One thing NOBODY is talking about with this movie is that with what little we've heard about the movie so far with Sidney's young kids, the babysitter, Sidney's unfriendly neighbor, etc. is that it seems to be taking inspiration from the latest Halloween movies as well as When A Stranger Calls once again, which Halloween and When A Stranger Calls were the OG inspirations for Scream. That's a full circle moment and I'm here for it! While I don't like the way things have happened with Spyglass and Melissa at all, the things those movies have missed for me is A) a real reason to continue the franchise beyond money and rights B) as you said for the legacy characters to have stakes and be in peril - to fear Ghost again and most importantly C) a return to form between the inspirations and what Scream is at it's core - a classic whodunnit slasher because again as you said the doors are wide open on who could be the killer(s) and we haven't had any of these this in such a long time. My only major apprehension at this point is the fact Busik is still the screenwriter. He can write some good suspense but he doesn't know how to pace his stories, write a compelling mystery, how to let characters breathe enough so that we can get to know them better, or how to write any of the legacy characters. Matt and Tyler with how they were able to visually capture Ghostface as well as the great cast saved those movies. I'll always say the writer should've been Kevin Williamson all along.

One of the most underrated horror directors. He’s not the greatest, but I’m rarely disappointed with him. IMO Split, Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, Old, Signs, The Village, and Devil are all really great. I even liked Glass and Knock at the Cabin, although I did have higher hopes for those, especially Glass since Split is my favorite film of his. This film certainly looks like it will go in the great category. I think it could be his best since Split although Star Wars Episode 7’s trailer also looked really good.

For those who don't know elements of this were used in the game Arkham Knight. Such as: Joker being dead but coming back via hallucination. Batman being held captive in Arkham Asylum. All the movie villains from 89-97 (minus Bane) being present. Batman being infected.
